Norfolk Botanical Garden, established near Virginia Beach in 1939 and covering 175 acres, comprises over 60 themed gardens that can be explored on tram, boat or foot. Established with the intent to inspire home gardens around Virginia Beach – as a non-profit 501(c)(3) non-profit organization supporting community projects – Norfolk Botanical Garden remains an inspiring presence today. The garden is an iconic landmark that continues to innovate to be more accessible, eco-friendly, and beautiful – even winning Fodor’s Travel’s top three botanical garden awards in 2023! Norfolk Botanical Garden is powered entirely by renewable energy, making it an eco-friendly destination. There are over 60 individual gardens to explore at Norfolk Botanical Garden that feature styles from different parts of the globe. Some of these gardens include: Bristow Butterfly Garden, Colonial Herb Garden, Enchanted Forest, Japanese Garden and Rose Garden. Furthermore, each year these gardens host events and programs such as Garden Highlight Walk/Talk sessions, busy bee sessions introducing moths & butterflies, impressions in clay casting sessions as well as Impressions In Clay Impressions Of Moths And Butterflies Introduction Sessions.

The Garden is an idyllic wedding venue, with 175 acres of wild and cultivated gardens providing an idyllic setting for any wedding event. Offering 17,000 square feet of event space – both indoor and outdoor venues – for weddings, receptions and other events, making the Garden an ideal location to host such occasions as well as receptions or other celebrations.

Norfolk Botanical Garden is open daily from 9 am to 7 pm, and timed-entry tickets may be purchased online. Located at 6700 Azalea Garden Road in Norfolk Virginia 23518-5337, visitors may explore by tram, boat or foot with something for every season and taste available in this beautiful oasis.
