Blood’s Voice

Anya Millar had no memory of her life or an instruction manual on how to navigate the insane world of humans, biting, and reality. Instead, Anya has had to learn to navigate the world of love, life, and sanity while avoiding those that would see her dead or enslaved.

This is the ongoing journey of Anya and Nicholas, human loving vampires and the human they love, Declán. What makes it all more complicated is that they are abominations in their own world and Declán is a natural born vampire hunter called a Guardian.

Anya must come to terms with who she is and her missing past, Nicholas must win back the object of his eternal love while dealing with new cravings in his silent heart, and Declán must learn to destroy the very creatures that he has unequivocally given his heart and blood.

Blood Bound eARC

How many ways can a hearts true love be shared? After poisoning, near death attacks, consummated passions, and possible insanity visit Anya, Nicholas, and Declán they embark on their future. Or at least they try to. Jealousy can be a pain, in more ways than one.

Come take a walk with our loving family and witness the strange turns and twists as life, love, and passions collide with greed, politics, and evil.

Northwest Angle

During a houseboat vacation on the remote Lake of the Woods, a violent gale sweeps through unexpectedly, stranding Cork and his daughter, Jenny, on a devastated island where the wind has ushered in a force far darker and more deadly than any storm. Amid the wreckage, Cork and Jenny discover an old trapper’s cabin where they find the body of a teenage girl. She wasn’t killed by the storm, however; she’d been bound and tortured before she died. Whimpering sounds coming from outside the cabin lead them to a tangle of branches toppled by the vicious winds. Underneath the debris, they find a baby boy, hungry and dehydrated, but still very much alive. Powerful forces intent on securing the child pursue them to the isolated Northwest Angle, where it’s impossible to tell who among the residents is in league with the devil. Cork understands that to save his family he must solve the puzzle of this mysterious child whom death follows like a shadow…

3 1/2 ♥’s Review: Blood's Voice

Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ     Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ     Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ     Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ

The concept behind Blood’s Voice is great. I love the story line. Each character, whether it’s a main one or a secondary one, carries their weight throughout the book. As Anya’s memories finally start re-emerging and things get pieced together she discovers that she was being used as a weapon. It is the love and strength of the characters that help her through the "finding out who you really are" stage.

3.5 Stars Review: Blood's Voice

Blood's Voice

The wonderful reviewer and author, Bonnie Lamer, has reviewed Blood’s Voice (Book #1 of the House Millar series) today and has given it 3.5 stars.  Below is a little excerpt from the review.

Something I truly enjoyed in this novel was the development of the secondary characters. They each had their own quirks and strengths; those meant to be liked are likeable and the ones meant to be disliked have the reader cheering for their demise. Their support and unique personalities mingle exceptionally well with the main characters, helping to make Blood’s Voice a novel that is definitely worth reading.

I thank the author for a review copy and I give the novel three and a half stars.

Excerpts from House Millar @ Live to Read

Blood’s Voice

“Ah, ah, ah, I wouldn’t do that if I be you,” the strange female streamed, where I could hear but he never could have.

“Get away from him,” I growled in return. She moved away a little but relatively stayed her ground. Moving in to wrap one arm around his waist, I pulled him behind me. “You are not welcome here and especially not near this one!” I was so furious I was vibrating slightly.

“A new pet,” she purred. “You’ve always been such a strange little creature, haven’t you? We just be talking.” She looked amused, maybe she did not understand the danger she was facing. “Weren’t we pet?”

“Mmmm, yesh ma’am,” Declán slurred. “Is okay Anya, we weres just talkin’.” Glancing back just enough to see his face I suddenly became aware of two things; first, he was dazed looking and secondly, he had two small wounds on the left side of his neck.

“You bit him?” I could hear the others converging on our position now. “You will never bite anyone ever again!” I growled. I could feel myself losing control; I needed to get Declán away, quickly.

I stopped and stared blankly for a moment but automatically signed in response as my mind raced. “My name is Anya. Who are you and why sign?” Other vamps though my signing with Declán was bizarre and a waste of time, so why was he signing instead of talking?

His smirk grew into a full on grin, though it still seemed devious somehow. “Jason. At your service miss.” He paused to give me a small bow extending his hand to me. Cautiously I extended my hand to his. He took it gently and bent to kiss the back of it. Straightening, he continued, “Why not sign? I always do. I usually don’t have such beautiful hands to watch,” he teased. Okay, this guy was just plain weird. And they think I’m strange.

“Nice to meet you Jason but I need to be on my way.” Why is he not speaking? Vampires aren’t deaf. It’s not possible – is it?

Interview: Mistress Anya @ Jeanz Book …

Interview with Anya Millar

Blood's Voice & Blood Bound Virtual Tour

A lovely young woman, I believe her name was Peony, led me out onto the veranda of the beautiful home that is the House Millar.  The charming Mistress Anya was already waiting on me.  She even though of my human needs – a snack and drink were laid out on the small table beside the empty chair.  Once I was settled Anya offered me tea as I thanked her for this rare opportunity.

Thank you for allowing me this inside peek into what makes you, you.

You are quite welcome.  I don’t mind speaking to others as long and they remember the rules.  *wink*  Though, you have to by default, being human and all.

True.  I’ll start off with an easy one.  You’re a vampire?

Yes.  Though I’m an aberration in my world.  I refuse to kill humans just to live.  I am not fluffy though – so do not underestimate me or those you see that live here.  We are lethal when we need to be but humans are off the diet.

Blood's Voice Excerpt at Jeanz Book…

EXCERPT – BLOOD’S VOICE BY AINE MASSIE

Entering Kayla’s room, I stopped dead in my tracks.  One, two, . . . too many people.  Not only were Kayla, Skye, and Nicholas here but so were Peony and Geoff.  “Um, what is going on?”
“And why are you all waiting in my sister’s room,” Declán added.
“That too.”
“Relax little sis, we are all here because Kayla here came up with an interesting idea for everyone.  We are all going to the party together,” Geoff said smiling at me.  Nicholas had a confident posture and a wicked grin.
“What party,” asked Declán?  “I was planning on taking Anya to a movie actually.”
“Shhhh. . . big brother, we already have both your outfits ready.  Just go get changed.  Your clothes are on your bed,” she added pushing Declán out the door.  “As for you Anya.  Skye. . .”  Skye grabbed my hand and started pulling me out of the room too.
We entered the large master bath where it seems my clothes were waiting.  An embroidered silver satin corset that tied up the back was laid out for me; it was a shorter kind, the type that would leave my lower midriff exposed entirely.  Next to it was a long, silver satin hip-hugger skirt with slits up both sides to just above the knee.  Seems they even though of footwear for me; there were knee high boots with 3-inch heels, again in silver, sitting on the floor in front of the sink.
