This hop celebrates the fanged heroes and heroines, the alluring creatures of the night, yes, those vampires we all love so much. All of the giveaways in this hop will have a vampire theme to them, so we are truly celebrating vampires for Valentine’s Day!

A big thank you from the House Millar to the hosts of the Vampires For Valentines BlogHop!

Today I’m featuring three (3) vampire series, well, book 1 from each at least.

House Millar Series

Blood’s Voice
by Aine P Massie
Geas Publishing
Geas | ARe | Amazon
Special 2 book set – Geas Publishing

Anya Millar had no memory of her life or an instruction manual on how to navigate the insane world of humans, biting, and reality. Instead, Anya has had to learn to navigate the world of love, life, and sanity while avoiding those that would see her dead or enslaved.

Anya must come to terms with who she is and her missing past, Nicholas must win back the object of his eternal love while dealing with new cravings in his silent heart, and Declán must learn to destroy the very creatures that he has unequivocally given his heart and blood.

This is the ongoing journey of Anya and Nicholas, human loving vampires and the human they love, Declán. What makes it all more complicated is that they are abominations in their own world and Declán is a natural born vampire hunter called a Guardian.

Bloodlines Series

by Richelle Mead
Razorbill Publishing
Amazon | B&N

I wasn’t free of my past, not yet.

Sydney’s blood is special. That’s because she’s an alchemist—one of a group of humans who dabble in magic and serve to bridge the worlds of human and vampires. They protect vampire secrets—and human lives. But the last encounter Sydney had with vampires got her in deep trouble with the other alchemists. And now with her allegiances in question, her future is on the line.

When Sydney is torn from her bed in the middle of the night, at first she thinks she’s still being punished for her complicated alliance with dhampir Rose Hathaway. But what unfolds is far worse. Jill Dragomir—the sister of Moroi Queen Lissa Dragomir—is in mortal danger, and the Moroi must send her into hiding. To avoid a civil war, Sydney is called upon to act as Jill’s guardian and protector, posing as her roommate in the unlikeliest of places—a human boarding school in Palm Springs, California. The last thing Sydney wants is to be accused of sympathizing with vampires. And now she has to live with one.

The Moroi court believe Jill and Sydney will be safe at Amberwood Prep, but threats, distractions, and forbidden romance lurk both outside—and within—the school grounds. Now that they’re in hiding, the drama is only just beginning.

The Vampire Chronicles

Interview With The Vampire
by Anne Rice
Amazon | B&N

In the now-classic novel Interview with the Vampire, Anne Rice refreshed the archetypal vampire myth for a late-20th-century audience. The story is ostensibly a simple one: having suffered a tremendous personal loss, an 18th-century Louisiana plantation owner named Louis Pointe du Lac descends into an alcoholic stupor. At his emotional nadir, he is confronted by Lestat, a charismatic and powerful vampire who chooses Louis to be his fledgling. The two prey on innocents, give their "dark gift" to a young girl, and seek out others of their kind (notably the ancient vampire Armand) in Paris. But a summary of this story bypasses the central attractions of the novel. First and foremost, the method Rice chose to tell her tale–with Louis’ first-person confession to a skeptical boy–transformed the vampire from a hideous predator into a highly sympathetic, seductive, and all-too-human figure. Second, by entering the experience of an immortal character, one raised with a deep Catholic faith, Rice was able to explore profound philosophical concerns–the nature of evil, the reality of death, and the limits of human perception–in ways not possible from the perspective of a more finite narrator.

While Rice has continued to investigate history, faith, and philosophy in subsequent Vampire novels (including The Vampire Lestat, The Que
en of the Damned, The Tale of the Body Thief, Memnoch the Devil, and The Vampire Armand), Interview remains a treasured masterpiece. It is that rare work that blends a childlike fascination for the supernatural with a profound vision of the human condition. —Patrick O’Kelley

These are my favourites, though there are many more great vampire stories out there! Today I’m giving away a $10.00 Gift Card (Amazon, ARe Bucks, or B&N) and a couple of bookmarks from the House Millar series.

Giveaway is open to everyone (though if you’re not in the USA or Canada, it might take a while to receive your bookmarks, lol).

  1. My first paranormal books had vampires as prominent characters and I fell in love with them then – they still hold a place in my heart so I have to go with Eric from The Southern Vampire Chronicles and Jean Claude from the Anita Blake series…..sigh…both fantatic characters. Thanks for the giveaway

  2. I like several different series, so I have a hard time picking. I like Eric form the Sookie Stackhouse series, and I like the Anita Blake series as well. Just too many good ones to choose from. Thanks! 🙂

  3. I’m just getting into vampires and this is a great way to find some new authors and books. I have been reading the Sookie Stackhouse series and the Black Daggar Brotherhood series.
Thanks for the chance to win.

  4. I’m torn between Rice’s Louie and Eric Northman. I couldn’t possibly name a fav series. There are just too many to love. I’m currently loving on JR Ward’s Black Dagger Brotherhood though.

  5. I don’t read a lot of vampire stories but enjoy daine duvall’s immortal guardian & doyna lynn’s AKM series.

  6. Now this is a Blog Hop I can really sink my teeth into! I LOVE Vampire’s and when you mix them in with Romance Novels the result is intoxicating! Who doesn’t love Vampires! They are usually handsome, sometimes dark and brooding, have sexy names like Sebastian – Damien – Alexander, and they have been alone so long and searching for their Bride, so they can have that one perfect woman to love! Some of my absolute favorite Vampires are :

Lothaire Daciano from the book Lothaire. Lothaire is sexy, wicked, confidant, and has been waiting for his Bride for Eons.

Ian MacPhie from the book All I Want For Christmas Is A Vampire. Ian is a Highland warrior and a Vampire. Sexy with an accent and a kilt.

Sebastien Newcombe from the book Phantom Shadows. Bastien is a misunderstood and sexy badass. He just loves to push everyone’s buttons.

Javier from the book Covet. Javier desires her above all others.

See what I mean….I LOVE VAMPIRES!

  7. Hmm, I’ll have to go with Louis-Cesare and Mircea from Karen Chance’s series, but Gareth from the Vampire Empire trilogy is definitely worthy of consideration.

  8. I just started the Bloodlines series, and really like it. It’s probably my favorite vampire series. Laura Bickle’s The Hallowed Ones is really great too.

  9. Ummm…. Valentine’s with Vampires. Sounds like the perfect combo to me. Especially if I can get a little Eric Northman (a la Alexander Skarsgard) sprinkled on top!

    Happy V-Day, Player!

  12. I have several vamps I love and series as well! It’s hard to pick one! The men of the Night Huntress World are definitely at the top of the list. My favorite series is probably one that doesn’t center around vampires per se, rather that they (or one in particular) play a large role in, The Hollows series by Kim Harrison!

  13. I really love Chicagoland vampires by Chloe Neill and vampire academy are a few of my favorites!
Thank you for the great giveaway!

  14.
